PETER’S SPONGE
Our favorite spot for potential dugong sightings, this site harbors these unique creatures resting in its shallow waters. Known as Peter’s Sponge, the white sand slope is adorned with small coral bommies, housing schools of glassfish and frogfish lying in wait. This muck diving site, primarily known for critters, is abundant with exotic species such as blue-ring octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, Ambon scorpionfish, and ghost pipefish. An absolute paradise for macro underwater photographers, this site embodies the incredible biodiversity of the area.
BATU MANDI
Situated off the shore of Pulisan and opposite Bangka Island at the northern peak of Sulawesi, this dive introduces divers to a series of majestic underwater pinnacles that rise from a sandy seabed. This dive, which ranges in depth from 5 to 25 meters, treats divers to a lush world of vibrant hard and soft corals teeming with a variety of reef fish. Notable highlights include pygmy seahorses, captivating cuttlefish, and the intriguing sight of giant and warty frogfish.
