3 ISLAND TRIP BUNAKEN,SILADEN,NAIN

Siladen offers a large shallow reef with stunning coral boulders and a gentle slope leading to deeper waters. It is home to diverse marine life including nudibranchs, scorpionfish, lionfish, and turtles. Siladen Jetty, is renowned for its pristine shallow reefs, enormous sponges, and gorgonians. The site is particularly known for its variety of anemones and anemonefish. Nain, reached by a 70-minute boat ride. It attracts experienced divers with opportunities to encounter tuna, hammerhead sharks, dolphins, and pilot whales.

 

WATER TEMPERATURE

With water temperatures consistently at 28 - 29 degrees all year round, diving is comfortable and enjoyable.

VISIBILITY

Visibility in the waters ranges on average from 15-25 meters, frequently reaching up to 30 meters.

Bunaken Marine Park is a recognized Marine Protected Area.

TRAVEL TIME

DIVING HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SILADEN,NAIN

There are several notable dive sites in the Bunaken Islands. First, we have Siladen Timur, located on the east side of Siladen Island. This dive site boasts vast shallow coral reefs adorned with massive coral boulders. It is home to various nudibranch species, scorpionfish, and lionfish, with occasional sightings of turtles. Another site worth mentioning is Siladen Jetty, considered one of the best dive and snorkeling spots in Bunaken Marine Park. The shallow coral reefs here are pristine, while the deeper wall is adorned with enormous sponges and gorgonians. Siladen Jetty is known for its diverse anemone and anemonefish species, particularly on the reef top. Lastly, Nain is an island located north of Bunaken, about a 40-minute boat ride away. This dive site is only suitable for experienced divers. It features a massive underwater pinnacle starting at 40 meters, separated from the reef by a deep canyon. Nain offers the chance to encounter impressive marine life, including large tuna and hammerhead sharks. The surrounding reefs in this area are also beautiful, and on the way to Nain, it’s common to spot pods of dolphins or pilot whales. These dive sites provide stunning underwater experiences, each with unique marine ecosystems and landscapes.

Jalan Masuk

Situated in the Bunaken National Park, Jalan Masuk is a dive site to the north of Bunaken Island, specifically located in the Nain area. This site showcases a vertical wall adorned with plating and encrusting corals, while hardy corals dominate the reef tops. Notably, strong currents can occasionally course through this channel, causing many plating corals to adopt an encrusting form to cling closely to the reef wall.

Dive into its large shallow reef adorned with impressive coral boulders, leading to a gently sloping wall into the depths. The east face of Bunaken offers an extensive wall, divided into four dive sites, each distinguished by a breathtaking coral garden. The currents here are generally mild, and visibility is often excellent. The region is home to a vast array of reef fish, unicorn fish, needlefish, long-jawed mackerel, fusiliers, and numerous turtles. Special critters like pygmy seahorses, halimeda ghost pipefish, and squat lobsters also inhabit the wall. With its clear waters and remarkable coral coverage, this site is perfect for snorkeling, especially in the morning light.

Siladen Jetty enjoys a reputation as one of the top dive and snorkelling sites within Bunaken Marine Park. The site features a mixture of shallow reefs covered in pristine corals and a deeper wall embellished with vast sponges and gorgonians. An abundance of anemones and anemonefish are the site’s special offerings, with a variety particularly visible on the reef top.

The currents generally offer a consistent drift, leading to the spectacle of numerous fish playing in the blue. Keep a vigilant eye on the wall to possibly spot ghost pipefish and several less commonly seen nudibranch species. Moreover, numerous cracks and tiny caves might hide baby reef sharks.
